Team India was dealt two big blows on Monday as star Indian duo, Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul were ruled out of the second IND vs ENG Test, starting on February 2 in Vizag.
However, TOI has now reported that Jadeja, who has been India’s key player in home Tests, could miss the remainder of the series as his injury ‘could be more serious’.
“Rahul could perhaps return later in this series, but Jadeja’s injury could be more serious. Let’s see what the NCA’s medical team tell us”, a BCCI source was quoted as saying to TOI.
Notably, Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury while attempting a quick run on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad.

If the all-rounder gets ruled out for remainder of the series, it could be a big blow for Team India who currently are without Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Mohammed Shami.
The selectors have already announced uncapped player Sourabh Kumar and all-rounder Washington Sundar as replacements for Jadeja in the second Test. The duo is likely to stick around for the remaining games in case Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out.
