The India Cricket Team had a fairly unsuccessful day on Day 3 in the IND vs ENG Test match. England recovered India’s 190 run trail and currently leads by 126 runs with 4 wickets remaining. With the pitch starting to favour the batters, India faced difficulty in scalping wickets. Paras Mhambrey however has claimed that India has their plan ready to counter England’s lead.
India’s bowling coach claimed that the wicket will continue to be slower, but the turn won’t be challenging. He has claimed that the objective for India is set. The hosts will aim to get early wickets on Day 4 and chase down the target. Ollie Pope was the highlight of the day after remaining unbeaten on 148.
“If you look at the way the game has progressed over the last few days from the first session, the amount of turn the ball has taken, I think it got better in the second innings. I think it is going to get a bit better on the slower side (tomorrow),” Paras Mhambrey spoke in the Press Conference.
“There will be some turn but it is not the usual turn you see in the Indian sub-continental wickets, the sharp turn when the game progresses. There is a little turn but not as challenging,” Mhambrey added.
Mhambrey believes that the task is set for the Indian team. The hosts will plan to extract the remaining 4 wickets. India are not putting any pressure on by setting targets. Boosted by a plethora of batters and able batters who can counter spin, India are prepared to counter England’s tactics to seal the game.
“We are not putting any pressure on ourselves by setting any target. We just want to bowl in the right areas to extract turn and bounce from the wicket,” Mhambrey concluded.
