The India U19 team is having a successful outing in the U19 World Cup 2024. Although the Uday Saharan-led side has yet to play their final group stage match, they have already qualified for the next stage of the tournament (the Super Six). Having already topped Group A, IND U19 had a chance to meet Pakistan U19 in the next stage.
But, as luck would have it, instead of Pakistan, they’ll face New Zealand and Nepal. As is the rule in the ongoing U19 World Cup 2024, the top three sides from all four groups will qualify for the Super Six stage.
India was placed with Bangladesh, Ireland, and the USA in Group A, and Pakistan drew New Zealand, Nepal, and Afghanistan in Group D. India topped Group A and drew the second and third-ranked sides from Group D. Similarly, Pakistan topped their group and drew the second and third-ranked sides in Group A.
India U19 to face New Zealand and Nepal in Super Six
After the Pakistan U19 side beat New Zealand on January 27, they topped the table and evaded India as their Super Six opponents. Instead, India U19 will now face D2 (New Zealand) and D3 (Nepal).
The Uday Saharan-led side will face both teams in Mangaung Oval at Bloemfontein. They face New Zealand on January 30 and Nepal on February 2 to ensure their pace in the semifinals.
