Sunil Gavaskar hails Ravindra Jadeja as ‘Best in the world’ after Hyderabad heroics

Sunil Gavaskar was impressed with Ravindra Jadeja after the all-rounder scored a fine 87 and bagged four wickets in IND vs ENG 1st Test.

Need wickets? Need to score runs? What about saving runs on the field or some of the best catches or even direct hits? There is one player who does it all is Ravindra Jadeja. The perfect example of 3D-player in Indian Cricket Team scored a magnificent 87 in IND vs ENG 1st Test to help India post 436. Earlier, he bagged three wickets too. With his on-field contribution second to none, Sunil Gavaskar has hailed him as the “Best cricketer in the world”.

“Jadeja is probably the best cricketer in the world with the contribution he makes with bat, ball and in the field,” Sunil Gavaskar during his commentary stint in IND vs ENG 1st Test in Hyderabad.

Ravindra Jadeja No 1 all-rounder

The World No 1 all-rounder in ICC Test Player Rankings did everything in IND vs ENG 1st Test. He rattled the English batting line-up with 3/88. Then, he came in as a crisis man.

With KL Rahul, he added 65 runs, playing a blazing knock during the session. Once KL Rahul departed, he paired up with KS Bharat for a slow session, adding 68 runs.

Then, he added another 78 runs with Axar Patel to take India to 436. While Ravindra Jadeja would be disappointed to not get that century after an umpiring gaffe, he put India in a commanding position.

“He adds so much value to the team and by all accounts he is an absolute delight in the changing room as well,” Sunil Gavaskar added.

But he wasn’t done yet. He came in post lunch to bowl and set up with Jonny Bairstow before bamboozling him with a delivery that came in. Bairstow had no answer and he could only watch the ball shatter his stumps.
