Sarfaraz Khan and his brother Musheer made quite a name for themselves after their latest performances on Thursday, with both the batters scoring a ton on Thursday. The former scored a ton in the India A innings against ENG Lions while his younger sibling scored a century in the U19 World Cup 2024 game against Ireland.
Sarfaraz Khan, brother sparkle with tons
18-year-old Musheer made 118 runs off 106 deliveries, helping India to get to a mammoth total of 307 runs. Meanwhile, his brother Sarfaraz smashed a 89-ball century to extend India A’s lead over 150 against the England Lions in the 2nd four-day match.
Sarfaraz finished at 161 runs off 160 balls. Meanwhile, Musheer was adjudged the Player of the Match for his match-winning 118-run knock off 106 deliveries laced with 9 fours and 4 sixes.
Along with Uday Saharan, Khan got the side off to a promising start in their game against IRE in the U19 World Cup 2024 on Thursday. Both batsmen registered a half-century after India was asked to bat first in their second game of the marquee tournament.
India were dealt with the first blow as Adarsh Singh had to depart for 32 runs, shortly after which the famed Arshin Kulkarni had to depart next, 50 runs later.
Meanwhile, Sarfaraz received the Madhavrao Scindia award for being the highest run-getter of the 2022 edition of the Ranji Trophy. The 26-year-old smashed a 89-ball century to extend India A’s lead over 150.
