WPL 2024: BCCI releases schedule, WPL to kick start on 23rd February as Mumbai Indians take on Delhi Capitals

WPL 2024 schedule released, MI take on DC on 23rd February, Delhi and Bengaluru to host 11 matches each

The schedule for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) season 2 has been released. The matches have been equally distributed in Delhi and Bengaluru (11 matches in each city). While WPL Season 2 will kick start in Bengaluru, the remainder of the matches including the knockouts and the finals will be held in Delhi.

WPL season 2 will kick start on 23rd February with Mumbai Indians locking horns with Delhi Capitals in Bengaluru while the final will be held on 17th March in Delhi.

The upcoming season of WPL will only have single headers, with all matches beginning at 7:30 PM IST. The first 11 matches will be held in Bengaluru, with the remaining nine league matches and the two Playoff matches taking place in Delhi,” read WPL’s statement.

WPL 2024 Schedule –

Initially, it was decided that the WPL will feature the home and away format like the Indian Premier League. However, now the tournament will take place in 2 cities. In Bengaluru, the matches will be held in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Similarly, in the Delhi Leg, the matches are slated to take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

This will be the second season of the WPL and will follow the Caravan Method. The opening game will feature last year’s both finalists. Mumbai Indians under Harmanpreet Kaur will be up for a tough job to defend their title.
