ECB at fault: Venkatesh Prasad slams the ‘old English way’ after Bashir’s visa issue

IND vs ENG Test: Venkatesh Prasad hits out at English Cricket claiming 'Old English way' after ECB's fault

Former India Cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has slammed English Cricket. The former fast bowler slammed the ‘old English way’ and the ECB for the Shoaib Bashir visa fiasco. Controversy arose when the young spinner failed to get his visa clearance in Abu Dhabi. The youngster has to miss the IND vs ENG 1st Test and has been sent back to UK to get his passport stamped.

While the English media has cried out loud, slandering the Indian system, it is however the fault of the ECB for not following the basic norms. Bashir’s passport was not stamped in UK and then hoped to do it in UAE which is a third country and goes against the rules.

20-year-old Shoaib Bashir hasn’t been allowed to travel to India. While the English media has slandered India for not allowing the player owing to his Pakistani origin, the actual reason is far away from the truth. It is in fact ECB who is at fault for not following the proper principles.

Bashir’s passport was to stamped at the Indian High Commission in UK. The ECB failed to do the needful and expected to get it done in UAE which goes against the rules. As a result, the player has travelled back to London to get his passport stamped.

Joining the likes of Aakash Chopra, Venkatesh Prasad has hit hard at English Cricket and pointing out ECB’s fault in the open.
