IND vs ENG Test: Spinners' dream, batters' nightmare? Hyderabad Pitch remains mystery as England gamble big on spinners

The biggest question for the IND vs ENG Test series right now is about Hyderabad Pitch. Will it be a dream pitch for the spinners or will batter’s go through their wildest nightmares? A day prior to the start of the IND vs ENG 1st Test, England Cricket Team has announced their squad.

Surprisingly, England have opted to go with just 1 pacer and 3 spinners. This in turn can be a big gamble for the visitors. While there is a chance that it can be a pace friendly pitch, indications don’t suggest that it can be rank turner.

Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood, Jack Leach are the 4 bowlers that England have selected for the first game. It seems to be a big gamble for England and can cost the Three Lions badly.

As by the looks of the Hyderabad Pitch, it can assist the spinners but doesn’t look like it can turn from Day 1. As a result, a two pacer attack would have bene perfect for England. England also has Joe Root who bowls regularly in Tests. With effectively 4 spinners, England has gone all out in spin department.

It is unclear whether Ben Stokes will bowl in the series. With T20 World Cup 5 months away and Stokes returning from a surgery, it looks highly unlikely that he will bowl.

England’s Playing XI for 1st Test: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (C), Ben Foakes (Wk), Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood, Jack Leach
