‘He may return’ Brendon McCullum claims there is chance for Harry Brooks to return for IND vs ENG Tests

IND vs ENG: Brendon McCullum gives slight glimmer of hope that Harry Brooks might return for Test series

Star England Cricket Team batter Harry Brook has pulled out of the IND vs ENG Test series. The batter has cited personal reasons and thus will take no part in the 5-match Test series. Ahead of the Hyderabad Test, England head coach Brendon McCullum claimed that the entire team sends their thoughts to Brook.

“Harry Brook is set to return home with immediate effect for personal reasons from the England Men’s Test tour of India. He will not be returning to India,” read ECB’s statement.

Ahead of the start of the IND vs ENG Hyderabad Test, McCullum went on to emphasis that it is privilege to play for the country. However, in times of need, some things are more important. As a result, it is crucial that Brooks recover from his personal issues.

“Obviously our thoughts are with Harry and his family, it’s a tough time,” said New Zealander McCullum. “It’s a privileged position to play cricket for a living but some things are more important than that.”

Though the ECB claimed that Brooks will not return to India, McCullum however said something else. The Kiwi great went on to claim that Brooks might return later on in the series. It is too early to decide on the matter. But with relative ease, McCullum claimed that for now the team wants Brooks to be with his family.
“We wish him all the best and hopefully the next little period for Brooky is as comfortable as it possibly can be. There’s a chance he may return later in the tour but for now we just want him to be with his family and do his thing,” McCullum comcluded.
