Former India opener Virender Sehwag revealed hilarious reason behind not looking at former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar’s long run-up during his playing days.

The two former cricketers, who are in Dubai as part of ILT20’s commentary team, engaged in hilarious conversation on sidelines after the game.

During their conversation, Sehwag revealed that he used to avoid looking up at Shoaib Akhtar’s run-up while batting to not get distracted.

“I would keep looking down, knowing that it would take 10-15 second for him to finish his run-up”, the former Indian opener said.

Akhtar then asked Sehwag if his long run-up was a big distraction?

To which Sehwag replied, “A lot of thoughts would run in mind. Will he hit my toes or a beamer on my head?”

Notably, both Sehwag and Akhtar enjoyed a fierce rivalry during their playing days. The former Indian opener had decent record against Akhtar, amassing 241 runs against the pacer in 18 innings at an average of 60.25 across all formats.
