Harbhajan Singh picks Yuzvendra Chahal as his first choice spinner for T20 World Cup 2024

Harbhajan Singh questioned the Indian selectors for 'overlooking' Yuzvendra Chahal, and claimed that the leg spinner is currently the best in the country.

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has raised questions regarding the Indian selectors’ decision to snub Yuzvendra Chahal from the national squad.

Harbhajan Singh, who is in UAE for the ILT20 league, questioned the Indian selectors, asking why certain players are being kept out of the team.

“He is being overlooked, and I don’t know why. He might not know either. But in today’s times, there is no better leg-spinner in the country. I don’t think there is any other spinner as courageous as him”, Harbhajan Singh said.

When asked about the preferred spinners for T20 World Cup 2024, Harbhajan said that the former RCB leggie would be his first choice.

“I will select Yuzvendra Chahal first for the T20 World Cup squad. His mind is very sharp. For the second spinner, I would choose Ravindra Jadeja. You need one off-spinner, and for that, Washington Sundar is perfect. Now, what the selectors think and what the team management thinks is a different matter”, the former Indian spinner added.

Notably, Yuzvendra Chahal has been out of the Indian team for the past six months. He last played for the national side in August 2023.
