England batter Harry Brook has pulled out of the upcoming IND vs ENG 5- match Test series against India, starting January 25 due to personal reasons. Book will return home with immediate effect, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on Sunday.
“Harry Brook is set to return home with immediate effect for personal reasons from the England Men’s Test tour of India. He will not be returning to India.
The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time. In light of this, the ECB and the family kindly request the media and the public to respect their wish for privacy and refrain from intruding on their private space”, the ECB said in a statement.

Brook has been a pivotal part of England’s recent Test success under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum. His absence from the Test squad will be a big blow for the Three Lions who are in quest to win their first Test series in India since 2012.
