BCCI to send Rishabh Pant to abroad for special consultation for recovery ahead of Indian Premier League

The BCCI is keen to send Rishabh Pant to UK. After Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami, Pant is the new addition to the India Cricket Team to go to UK. Pant who is seeking his comeback for the Indian Premier League (IPL) needs special consultation on his recovery.

As per reports from Cricbuzz, Rishabh Pant might travel to UK if not he has travel already. Pant will be in London as he seeks his comeback to playing cricket.

Rishabh Pant Injury Timeline

  • December 2022: Pant suffers horrific car accident on December 30, 2022.
  • January 2023: Pant is airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment at the Kokilaben hospital.
  • February 2023: Pant undergoes knee ligament reconstruction surgery in Mumbai under Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala
  • February 2023: Rishabh Pant returns home after spending nearly 45 days in hospital.
  • April 2023: Pant attends DC vs GT IPL match in Delhi, making first public appearance since the accident.
  • April 2023: First time since his accident, Pant begins walking without support at the NCA.
  • June 2023: Pant continues gym sessions with Team India players.
  • August 2023: Rishabh Pant continues his recovery but bats for the first time in public eyes.
  • September: Misses both Asia Cup and World Cup as recovery continues.
  • October 2023: More positive news on recovery but still not fit to play in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
  • November 2023: Attends Delhi Capitals’ camp in Kolkata as recovery continues.
  • December 2023: Rishabh Pant is present at IPL 2024 Auction Table and takes part in bidding for Mitchell Starc.

Rishabh Pant is set to play in the Indian Premier League, but only as an Impact Player. This means that Rishabh Pant is most likely to play only as a batter, especially as a finisher.

“He’s (Pant) good now. He will play in the IPL next season,” Sourav Ganguly told reports in December.

“Rishabh won’t be practising here though. There’s still time for him to get down to practice. By January (2024), he’ll get even better,” Ganguly added.

“We were talking about the team. He is the captain, so he put in his views regarding the upcoming auction. That’s the reason he has come here, to finalise certain aspects related to the team,” Ganguly concluded.
