After their record-breaking 190-run stand helped win whitewash Afghanistan, Rinku Singh has thanked his partner and skipper Rohit Sharma.
The finisher had joined his skipper when India were 22/4. From there on, the duo scored 190 runs off the remaining 93 balls to help India post a mammoth score of 212. Their partnership turned out to be the highest-ever T20I partnership for the 5th wicket in history and the highest-ever partnership for India in T20I cricket.
To thank his skipper, Rinku Singh posted images of them together with the caption: “Every moment in the middle with @rohitsharma45 bhaiya is a masterclass in learning, fun and entertainment. Series win vibes”
Although Rinku Singh played second fiddle in their partnership, scoring just 69 runs out of the 190-run stand, his staying alongside his skipper helped the India cricket team build momentum.
By the end of the 15th over, the duo had taken India to the 109-run mark. That platform helped Rohit go berserk, as the Men in Blue scored 103 runs in the last 30 balls.
Not only this, Rinku and Rohit also scored 36 runs in the last over, which happened to be the third instance of 36 runs being scored in an over in T20I cricket history.
