India vs England: Rohit Sharma & Co to have short camp before Hyderabad Test

Rohit Sharma & Co will have a short camp before IND vs ENG Test series with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Siraj & Ravindra Jadeja appearing for fitness tests.

India Cricket Team will have a short camp before flying to Hyderabad for the IND vs ENG 1st Test. Rohit Sharma & Co have travelled to Bengaluru for the IND vs AFG 3rd T20I. And immediately after that, they will get a two-day break before assembling in Hyderabad on Jan 20 for a 4-day practice camp ahead of the India vs England 1st Test starting Jan 25.

India’s pace spearheads — Mohammed Siraj & Jasprit Bumrah who are rested from the T20I series will reach NCA this week to undergo fitness test.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin too will appear for a fitness test ahead of the IND vs ENG Test series. They were on a break following South Africa series.

India head coach Rahul Dravid will conduct the coaching camp with intra-squad games and match simulations. However, Virat Kohli has got a permission to travel to Ayodhya for a day to attend Ram temple consecration on Jan 22. He will rejoin the next day.  

Mohammed Shami to report to NCA

Mohammed Shami who is the notable omission due to knee injury will report to the NCA sometime next week to undergo injury assessment.

The pacer was not named for the first two IND vs ENG Test as he failed to recover in time. He also missed the South Africa tour entirely.

“Shami is in constant touch with the medical team and the NCA. Once they are satisified with his fitness, he will report to the NCA to undergo rehab. Only when he gets NCA’s clearance, he will be available for selection,” a seior BCCI official told InsideSport.
