Shikhar Dhawan reflects on his partnership with India captain Rohit Sharma

Veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan recently reflected on the impactful partnership he shared with India captain Rohit Sharma as the opening pair for Team India.

Veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan, reflecting on his successful partnership with Rohit Sharma in the limited-overs format, acknowledged the significant impact they had as openers for Team India.

From 2013 to 2022, Dhawan and Rohit amassed an impressive 5,148 runs, solidifying their place as the fourth pair in ODI history to surpass the 5000-run mark as openers. Only Sachin Tendulkar-Sourav Ganguly, Adam Gilchrist-Matthew Hayden, and Gordon Greenidge-Desmond Haynes have achieved this remarkable feat.

In an interview with the Times of India, Dhawan credited Rohit Sharma for his exceptional performances, stating, “My collaboration with Rohit & his support at the other end at the top of the order has been instrumental in providing strong starts to the team, setting the foundation for successful chases and big totals. I seriously give credit for a lot of my best performances to Rohit’s support.”
