Yashasvi Jaiswal stole the headline with his stunning knock of 68 runs in the IND vs AFG 2nd T20I. The young southpaw missed the first match of the series with a right groin injury. However, he made a comeback in the second game to help India seal the series. The youngster revealed a crucial advice that skipper Rohit Sharma gave him which had a huge impact on his game.
Yashasvi hammered a strong 68 run knock from 34 balls. He went on to slam 5 fours and 6 sixes helping him bat with a strike rate of 200. Though Rohit Sharma made consecutive ducks, he had advised Yashasvi to play his shots freely.
“Wo kehte hain tu jaa aur bindaas khel (Just go and play your shots freely). He’s always there to look after us. It’s always incredible if you have a senior like him,” Yashasvi Jaiswal told the BCCI.tv.
“Kaafi maza aaya batting karne mey, Wicket bhi kaafi acha tha (I enjoyed my batting, wicket was also very good). We had really good target to chase, in my mind I wanted to give a good start,” he added.
Yashasvi claims that the crucial bit of advice from Rohit Sharma was a big boost for him. Brimming with confidence, the youngster opened his account with a brilliant boundary. India have won the series 2-0 and will aim for a whitewash on the 3rd match on 17th January.
