Untouchable: Aakash Chopra feels Yashasvi Jaiswal will be 1st name on the sheet for T20 WC 2024

Jaiswal was India's top scorer in the second T20I in Indore.

Yesterday, Yashasvi Jaiswal showed why he is India’s designated opener in T20Is. His quickfire 68 off 32 balls helped India secure a conformable six-wicket win over Afghanistan in Indore. The southpaw showed why he is preferred over the likes of Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, and Ruturaj Gaikwad, firing on all cylinders and ending the match as India’s top scorer.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra iterated the same in his show, Cricket Chaupaal. Calling him fearless, Chopra went on and on about Yashasvi Jaiswal and his glorious batting.

“He’s outstanding. What great batting! The way he plays, it’s fearless. He’s not reckless or careless, but a great attacking and confident player. He thinks when I hit it, it’ll go out of the park. The way he was batting, I would have preferred if he had finished the match, but what great batting!

Despite the T20 World Cup 2024 being five months away, the cricketer-turned-commentator believes that he’ll be the first name on the sheet for the event.

He’s stamped his authority; this guy is going to the West Indies (T20 World Cup 2024). He’s going to give the Indian management a sweet headache. You’ll have to open him; he’ll be untouchable if he has a half-decent IPL.
