After Silver duck in first T20I, Rohit bags golden duck in IND vs AFG 2nd T20I

IND vs AFG: Rohit Sharma falters yet again, departs for Golden Duck in IND vs AFG 2nd T20I

Rohit Sharma’s return to T20Is has been dismal. The India Cricket Team skipper departs for a golden duck in the IND vs AFG 2nd T20I. With this dismissal, Rohit now has back to back ducks in the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan. After a silver duck in the first game, it is a Golden Duck now for the Indian skipper.

In the previous game it was a horrible mix-up run out with Shubman Gill. This time Rohit Sharma has no one to blame. The star Indian batter fell victim to a devilish delivery from Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi.

Tasked to chase 173 in a batting friendly pitch in Indore, Rohit wanted to go all guns blazing. In a bid to play a pre meditated shot, Rohit swings at the ball which ducks below his bat to crash the stumps.

A dejected Rohit Sharma has to walk back to the pavilion without bothering the scoreboard. This is Rohit’s 12th T20I duck and he placed second on the list with K Irakoze and Kevin O’brien. Ireland’s Paul Stirling has most T20I ducks (13).

Not the Perfect Comeback

While Rohit was exceptional in the ODI World Cup, his return to T20I cricket after 14 months was hugely awaited. But adding misery for the fans, Rohit has been dismissed for 2 consecutive ducks. Though his spot in the Team for the T20 World Cup is not in any danger, but he needs to find his form back soon.
