Let’s check if it’s a fake account: Virat Kohli’s first thought when Djokovic messaged him

Djokovic revealed yesterday that he and Kohli have been texting each other for the past few years.

After Novak Djokovic revealed that he and Virat Kohli were text buddies yesterday, the cricket superstar has revealed how the two got in touch with each other. Kohli stated that they got in touch organically.

Narrating how they got in touch, Virat Kohli said:

“I was looking at his profile once on Instagram and happened to press the message button. I thought I’d say hello, and then I saw a message from him already.

Let me just check if it’s a fake account. It was legitimate, and we got talking. We keep exchanging messages every now and then, and I congratulate him for all his amazing achievements.

When I got my 50th century, he put a story and sent me a very nice message as well. There is mutual admiration and respect.”

While talking to Somdev Devvarman on Sony Sports Network, Djokovic revealed that the two modern greats have known each other for a little while and share text messages now and then.

“Virat Kohli and I have been texting a bit for a few years. We never got a chance to meet in person, but it was really an honor and a privilege to hear him speak nicely about me. I obviously admire all of his career and achievements,” the 24-time Grand Slam champion stated.
