David Warner offers earnest gratitude to people involved in his grand helicopter entry in BBL

Expressing sincere gratitude, David Warner acknowledges and appreciates the individuals involved in orchestrating his grand helicopter entry during the Sydney Derby in the Big Bash League (BBL).

David Warner made a grand entrance at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) before the BBL clash between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers, creating a legendary moment. The Australian opener arrived in a helicopter, flying in directly from his brother’s wedding. The chopper landed on the outfield, coincidentally near the spot where the ‘Thanks Dave’ logo was painted during his farewell Test match.

Following the spectacular entrance the legendary Aussie cricketer thanked all the people involved in the feat.

“Was great to be able to get back in time for the game, Thanks to all involved in allowing this to happen” wrote Warner on Instagram.

Despite the spectacular entrance, Warner’s on-field performance for the Thunder was notable. He top-scored with 37 runs, including two impressive sixes. However, the Thunder faced a setback, succumbing to a 19-run defeat.

Earlier in the day, Warner’s attempt to distract his long-time teammate Steve Smith appeared to have an impact. Equipped with an on-field player microphone, Warner was heard playfully trying to wind up Smith, joking about Smith taking Warner’s old spot as Australia’s Test opener. Although Smith initially appeared unfazed, he surprisingly hit the first ball of the match in the air, departing for a rare diamond duck.

Warner’s eventful day, marked by a stylish entrance and on-field contributions, added a touch of flair to the BBL clash, creating memorable moments for cricket fans.
