Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins has refuted the reports which claimed that the team contacted Babar Azam and offered him Sheffield Shield and Big Bash League contracts.
On Friday, reports surfaced that Cricket Victoria contacted the former Pakistan skipper to play domestic cricket and in the BBL. The reports also claimed that Babar Azam was keen to take up the offer.
However, the CEO of Cricket Victoria Nick Cummins denied the reports and termed it a ‘Fake News’.
Cummins also mentioned that Babar would have to go through the draft to play in the BBL.

“Absolutely zero truth about it. Even if we wanted him to play BBL, he’d have to go through the draft and could go to any club. Love Babar, but the story is not true”, he responded to one of the comments.
