‘Shameful moral cowardice’, Piers Morgan blasts CSA for sacking David Teeger as U19 captain

Piers Morgan hits hard at Cricket South Africa, questions moral grounds on sacking young captain

Piers Morgan has yet again stirred up a controversy. The British TV presenter has slammed Cricket South Africa (CSA). Morgan rebuked the Proteas broad for their decision to relieve David Teeger as the U19 Captain. Morgan blasted by questioning CSA’s decision claiming ‘jewish’ as the reason to sack the teenager.

CSA announced that David Teeger will not lead the Proteas U19 Team in the U19 World Cup citing safety concerns. Though Teeger will be a part of the team, CSA will take time to decide on their new skipper for the ICC tournament.

Teeger came into the limelight after his controversial statements. In October 2022, while receiving the ‘Rising Star’ award at the Jewish Achiever Awards, he went on to say, “I’ve been awarded this award, and yes, I am now the rising star, but the true rising stars are the young soldiers in Israel.”

There have been protests in South Africa after the youngster’s comments. The latest came in Cape Town. Ahead of the IND vs SA 2nd Test, a group of Pro-Palestine supporters protested outside Newlands asking of the sacking of Teeger.

CSA went on to cite safety concerns by claiming it will be beneficial both for the player and the team under such circumstances. Piers Morgan remains baffled with the decision and he continues his harsh rebuke.
