Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant posted an inspiring message on social media as he counts the days before making a comeback to competitive cricket. Rishabh, who hasn’t played international cricket for over a year, will in all likelihood make a comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Pant suffered a horrific car accident in December of 2022 and has been absent from all forms of cricket since then. He missed the entirety of 2023 as he recovered from his injuries. However, the tough days seems to be over for Pant now as he prepares to return to the Indian team.
Since Pant’s injury, India have experimented in the wicketkeeper position quite a lot in all formats. KS Bharat, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul and Jitesh Sharma have kept wickets in Pant’s absence in the last one year, although no one managed to cement their spot in the team.
As Pant begins his final lap on the road to recovery, the southpaw put up an interesting story on Instagram. The story is an excerpt from a book by Charlotte Freeman, a distinguished author from Australia. The post talks about keeping belief on oneself, and not being afraid to try out new experiences.
Rishabh has certainly experienced a lot in the past year and will be motivated to take the field at the opportunity he gets.
