Tim Southee has added yet another feather to his cap. In his 16-year career, Southee has several accolades to his name. In the NZ vs PAK 1st T20I, the pacer became the first bowler to take 150 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Southee got to the milestone by claiming the wicket of Abbas Afridi.
Apart from becoming the first player in T20Is to take 150 wickets, Tim Southee also extended his supremacy on the list of the most wickets in T20Is.
The fast bowler helped his side secure the match thanks to his 4-wicket haul. He broke Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam’s partnership in his second over to help the Kiwis gain control of the match.
In his third over, he dismissed Iftikhar Ahmed to give New Zealand the upper hand. However, it was the final over where he struck twice to take New Zealand home and take his T20I wicket tally to 151.
