Amidst India non-selection, Yuzvendra Chahal finds his ‘long lost brother’

Chahal last played for India in August 2023.

Yuzvendra Chahal may have lost his spot in the India cricket team, but that isn’t stopping him from enjoying his life. The leg-spinner has been in and out of the team in the past year, with a significant decrease in his performance and the management’s confidence in him.

Such has been the case that young leggie Ravi Bishnoi has been selected over him in the past few T20I series, including the IND vs AFG series. Despite his non-selection for the India cricket team and potentially the T20 World Cup 2024, Yuzvendra Chahal isn’t letting disappointment get in the way of his off-the-field life.

Letting go of on-the-field tensions, Chahal met with social media star Orry (Orhan Awatramani). The star rose to fame a few weeks ago for his images with Bollywood stars in his peculiar style of posing.

Chahal met the internet celebrity and posted a couple of images with the caption: long lost brothers.

Tumultuous 2023 for Yuzvendra Chahal

Last year was full of ups and downs for Yuzvendra Chahal. The experienced leg-spinner managed to play just 2 ODIs and missed the cut for the ODI World Cup 2023. The most shocking thing for Chahal was Ravichandran Ashwin getting picked ahead of him despite not playing the format for a couple of years.

Knowing he wasn’t in the reckoning for the ODI World Cup, Chahal decided to keep his focus on T20s with the T20 World Cup 2024 coming up. He played 9 T20Is in 2023 but failed to impress. He managed to take just 9 wickets and was outperformed by Bishnoi, who took 18 wickets in 11 matches.
