Meet Amir Hussain Lone; captain of J&K para cricket team who showed that ‘nothing is impossible’

J&K para cricket team captain Amir Hussain Lone met with an accident in 1997, but it did not stop him from playing cricket.

Cricket can do wonders in and outside the field. Jammu and Kashmir cricketer Amir Hussain Lone’s life was shattered when he met with an accident and lost his hands in the tragic incident. But, he did not lose hope and showed that resilience can make anything possible.

According to ANI, 34-year-old Bijbeharan cricket player from Waghama village, Amir Hussain is the captain of the J&K para cricket team. His batting style is different from other cricketers as he bats holding it between his neck and shoulder while bowling with his feet.

When Amir was eight years old, an accident in his father’s mill cost him both of his arms.

Cricket greats like Sachin Tendulkar and Ashish Nehra have hailed the batter. Nehra also invited him to watch T20 World Cup 2016 semi-final at Wankhede.

Since 2013, Amir has played professional cricket, having first been introduced to the sport by a teacher who saw his potential.
