After a steady start by Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the Afghan team lost both its openers in a space of three balls. Afghanistan lost their third wicket after another over, bringing Nabi to the crease.
Nabi displayed attacking intent right from the start, hitting the Indian bowlers all around the park. The all-rounder hit two 4s and three sixes to score a quickfire 42 of just 27 balls.
His innings helped Afghanistan come out of a tricky situation. When Nabi got out at 42 in the 18th over, Afghanistan were on their course to set a decent target of 158 for India to overcome.
Afghanistan, on the other hand, will hope Nabi has a good day with the ball too. In the absence of Rashid Khan, Nabi will have the added responsibility of providing Afghanistan with crucial breakthroughs.
