30-year-old Rahmat Shah makes T20I debut after 106 ODIs for Afghanistan

India vs Afghanistan: Rahmat Shah made his T20I debut after playing 106 ODIs for Afghanistan.

The India vs Afghanistan T20Is are not only important for the host side to get their combination right before the T20I World Cup, but as important for the opposition as well. The visiting side, Afghanistan, for the very first time in the shortest format, played their batting mainstay Rahmant Shah. Yes.

The latter made his debut for Afghanistan in T20Is, after playing seven Tests and 106 ODIs. Not just that, Rahmat also becomes the first 30-year-old, to debut in T20Is for Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, in the first match, India also went in with a few surprise selections. While Ravi Bishnoi was picked over Kuldeep Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out due a groin injury. Shivam Dube too got a chance to prove his mettle in the series. Surprisingly, Sanju Samson was also left out, while Jitesh Sharma was given the wicket-keeping duties.
