‘Want to achieve a few things, but winning most important’: Rohit Sharma

India vs Afghanistan: Rohit Sharma & Co. just have three T20Is left before they feature in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Skipper Rohit Sharma is making a comeback to the T20Is after a gap of 14 months, but his fans will have to wait a but longer to see him bat, as after winning the toss, India opted to field, against Afghanistan, in the first T20I.

Rohit said, “We will bowl first. No particular reason, the pitch is good and it doesn’t change a lot here. A lot to gain from the 3 games, we haven’t had too much T20 cricket leading to the World Cup.”

Rohit also touched upon the team combination topic, that is much-talked about, prior to the T20 World Cup 2024. He said, “there’s IPL, but this is an international game and we’ll try to achieve a few things. I had a chat with Rahul Dravid regarding the combination going forward and what we need to do as a group.

“That’s what we’ll try to do, but winning is the most important thing. He added, “Sanju Samson, Avesh, Yashashvi (who didn’t pull off well) and Kuldeep miss out.”
