In a thrilling turn of events, Musheer Khan, the younger brother of India’s batting sensation Sarfaraz Khan, has carved a formidable path into India’s Under-19 World Cup playing 11. The burgeoning fast bowler’s stellar performance in the ongoing tri-series in South Africa has not only turned heads but virtually cemented his spot in the lineup for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup 2024, scheduled to kick off on February 19.

Sarfaraz Khan brother wreaks havoc

Amidst the preparatory tri-series involving the under-19 teams of South Africa, Afghanistan, and India, Sarfaraz Khan’s brother remarkable bowling exhibition unfolded during the fifth match against South Africa.

The young speedster, representing India’s Under-19 team, orchestrated a historic feat, dismissing five batters while conceding a mere 38 runs in his spell of 10 overs. Notably, Musheer predominantly dismantled the top-order South African batters, leaving an indelible mark on the match.

Musheer Khan’s standout performance played a pivotal role in India’s resounding victory over South Africa, restricting the host nation to a total of 256 runs. In response, Team India convincingly chased down the target, securing a spot in the final with a comfortable score of 260 runs for the loss of four wickets.

The final clash is slated for January 10 against South Africa, and Musheer’s exceptional contribution has undoubtedly bolstered India’s prospects in the tri-series.

Under-19 World Cup 2024 Squad

Musheer Khan’s electrifying display has solidified his position in India’s Under-19 World Cup squad for 2024.
