Indian Shooter Esha Singh secured a Paris 2024 Olympic quota for India by securing gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Asian Olympic Qualifier Rifle and Pistol event in Jakarta, Indonesia on Monday. The 18-year-old shooter claimed a Gold at the Asian Olympic qualifier to fill the quota at the showpiece event. Earlier Varun Tomar secured a quota for the country as well in the men’s counter part with a gold medal as well.
This significant victory marked India’s first Paris 2024 quota in the women’s 10m air pistol event, underlining Esha’s prowess and contribution to the country’s Olympic prospects. The ongoing Jakarta meet also presents the opportunity for Indian shooters to potentially secure two more quotas in the men’s and women’s 25m pistol events.
