‘Big fan’: BBL spinner Nikhil Chaudhary opens up on admiration for Virat Kohli

Hobart Hurricanes' spinner Nikhil Chaudhary openly expressed his admiration for the iconic Virat Kohli

Hobart Hurricanes spinner and the second Indian-born cricketer in the Big Bash League (BBL) Nikhil Chaudhary expressed his admiration for Virat Kohli’s aggressive style. Chaudhary, with aspirations to establish himself in Australia, aims for a robust BBL career that extends beyond his current one-year contract.

In a post-match interview after the clash against Melbourne Renegades in the BBL, Chaudhary shared his appreciation for Kohli, stating, “I am a big fan of his (Kohli’s) aggression and obviously his skills. I have been totally following him for the last 10 years. And he has been growing and growing.”

Eager to become a proven finisher in the Big Bash League, Chaudhary actively seizes the opportunity to learn from his Hurricanes teammate and Mumbai Indians player, Tim David. The spinner highlighted the positive interactions with David, mentioning how the Australian star reached out shortly after Chaudhary joined the team.

“I’ve been talking to him (Tim David) for the last couple of months now, when I signed the contract, he messaged me straight away and he was like, ‘let’s do this boy’. It’s pretty great learning from him,” remarked the 27-year-old cricketer.
