In the recently concluded Pakistan vs Australia Test series, there were lot of talks surrounding mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, and how he should have been part of the playing XI. But the youngster was sidelined due to a hip injury, that he had sustained during the World Cup in India. Mysteriously, he was never released from the squad in Australia.
Now as per reports in Geo News, as published by The News, he might suffer the same fate for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand. Not just that, the mystery over his prolonged injury seems to have also been solved. The report suggests that Abrar displayed ‘constant negligence’, that only aggravated the matter.
The medical report also says that Abrar had neglected the doctor’s advice. It says, he was diagnosed with Sciatica. Despite this, he went on to bowl 27 overs during Pakistan’s match against Aussie PM XI. Soon after the third day’s play of that match, Abrar complained of pain, and was taken for scans.
