India batted first in the IND vs PAK 3rd ODI. The Indian batting order put in a forgettable performance, being bowled out for just 167. Only two Indian batters scored above 30, with captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni top-scoring with 36. Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal took 5 wickets to help Pakistan be on course for a whitewash. However, the Indian bowlers had other plans.
Pakistan got off to a decent start, scoring 43/2 in the first 16 overs. It should have been a routine chase, but Pakistan succumbed to pressure. Indian bowlers Ishant Sharma, Bhubaneswar Kumar and Mohammed Shami picked up regular wickets to make Pakistan’s chase steeper.
In the end, Pakistan were bundled out for 157, 10 runs shy of India’s total. Although India lost the ODI series 2-1, the win in the final ODI served as great boost to India’s confidence.
