Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is the only Indian cricketer nominated for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year 2023. Apart from him, Australia’s two players, Travis Head and Usman Khawaja, and English batter Joe Root are among the nominees.

Ravichandran Ashwin
With an outstanding performance in the Border-Gavaskar series at home, Ashwin took 25 wickets in four games, helping India to win the series. In the process, he also surpassed Anil Kumble, who had 111 wickets, to become India’s all-time leading wicket-taker in Test cricket against Australia with 114 wickets.
Travis Head
Head was one of just three visitor players to score more than 200 runs in the difficult Border-Gavaskar series.
In the World Test Championship Final, he carried on his form and delivered a Player of the Match display that included a scorching century that handed the game to India.
Usman Khawaja
The Australian opener has scored 1210 runs in 13 Test matches this year. He has bagged three centuries and six fifties at an average of 52.60.
Joe Root
English stalwart Joe Root has scored 787 runs in eight Test matches with two hundred and five fifties. He scored runs at an average of 65.58.
