The Men in Blue’s victory at Cape Town is a stellar reminder of the comeback staged by India at the Gabba in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2019. Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the day for India as he emulated Mohammed Siraj from the 1st innings, finishing with figures of 6-61. South Africa resumed their 2nd innings on Day 2 in a miserable fashion as Bumrah bagged his 9th five-wicket haul. The lone fightback from the Proteas came from opener Aiden Markram who top-scored for the side with a blazing 106-run knock.

The Karnataka pacer managed to get 1 wicket, finishing with figures of 1-27 from 4 overs. Mukesh Kumar repaid the faith of the selectors as he bagged two more wickets in the 2nd innings.
