Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee managed to grab the attention of the Hindi speaking population all over the world when he began a conversation in Hindi with Hobart Hurricanes cricketer Nikhil Chaudhary during a Big Bash League game. Lee, currently commentating in the 2024 Big Bash League surprised Nikhil with his flawless use of Hindi during the conversation, prompting Nikhil to compliment Brett Lee’s Hindi.

Brett Lee has been coming to India for long and it is no surprise that the former fast bowler would pick up on the language during his long association with the country. However, that Brett Lee decided to converse in Hindi in a Big Bash League game came as surprise.
Nikhil Chaudhary was mic’d up for this particular Big Bash League game. Brett Lee, commentating in the BBL, started his conversation in Hindi with Nikhil, asking,”Aap kaise ho (How are you)?”
Nikhil appeared pleasantly surprised at Brett Lee’s language selection. However, he decided to answer back in Hindi too, saying, “Main thik hu, thank you (I’m fine).”
Lee then showcased his prowess over the language saying, “Main hindi thoda thoda, aapse milke accha laga (I know a little bit of Hindi, good to meet you).”
Nikhil answered back saying “Your Hindi is too good mate,” to which Brett Lee replied, “I’m still learning mate.”
The fun exchange immediately went viral of social media, with fans all over the world marvelling at Lee’s Hindi speaking skills.
