If the Indian women’s cricket team has to be a success in the coming next few years, they should not take the 0-3 drubbing against Australia, lightly. The hosts were just no match to the Aussie might, where they won two matches comfortably, while one was decided on the last ball.
Former India skipper Anjum Chopra went on to say on her Youtube channel, that the 0-3 scoreline only shows Australia’s dominance over the years. “Look towards the Australian dressing room if you want to know what is called domination. India and Australia might have played nine series but Australia haven’t lost even one series, and they have won very convincingly as well, just like the Alyssa Healy-led Australian team won another series in India with a 3-0 clean sweep,” Anjum said.
But then, there are positives to take for India, and the team should build on from here. “As many times you might look back and see how many opportunities we had to dominate, you will see very small, small moments after the Test match India won. However, those little moments are enough to raise expectations,” Anjum added.
After the ODI series setback, now the Indian team will face the same opposition in a three-match T20I series, set to begin in Navi Mumbai from January 5.
