India Cricket Team roar back in form in Cape Town, Cornered Tigers brutalise Proteas after humiliation - Check Out India's mega Test comebacks

With their backs against the wall, India Cricket Team are at their deadliest. Like a cornered Tiger, Team India came roaring back to victimize Proteas. It is not something that Cricket fans are unfamiliar. In fact, many a times in the past, India have made sensational comeback in Test series to snatch victories from the jaws of defeat.

From being 36 all out in Australia to breaching the Gabba to register an iconic Test series win in Border-Gavaskar Trophy, to the iconic IND vs AUS Kolkata Test where the hosts defied a follow-on to beat the visitors.

When the chips are down, India has pulled off something sensational countless times defy humiliating losses. A similar incident took place in the IND vs SA 2nd Test. While the Proteas hammered Rohit Sharma and Co in the Boxing Day Test, India gave a sharp reply in the New Year’s Test to bowl out the hosts for 55 in Cape Town.

Mohammed Siraj bagged a six-fer to demolish the Protean attack. Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar scalped 2 wickets apiece to help SA register their 4th lowest total at Cape Town.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21

India were bowled out for 36/10 in the Adelaide Test. A complete batting collapse by India saw Josh Hazelwood scalping a fifer while Pat Cummins taking 4 wickets. India did the unthinkable after the 8 wicket lost. They won the next Test match in Melbourne by 8 wickets sans skipper Virat Kohli.

The two sides battled hard in the Sydney Test which ultimately was drawn. With the series on the line, India achieved the impossible. A young Indian side breached the fortress Gabba. A sensational knock by Shubman Gill in the second session followed by fireworks from Rishabh Pant saw India breach the fortress and clinch a 2-1 series win after a horrendous start.

England Tour of India 2021

Another instance when the chips were down, India overcame all odds to thrash the Three Lions. England took the upper hand by winning the first Test in Chennai by 227 runs. Desperate for revenge, India hit back hard in the second taste at the same venue. The hosts picked up a win by 317 runs in the 2nd Test.

Moving to the third Test in Ahmedabad, India displayed their supreme might by winning the game by 10 wickets. The hosts gave England no chance of making a comeback and hammered the visitors by an innings and 25 runs at the same venue in the 4th Test to win the series 3-1.

Kolkata Test in 2001

The iconic India vs Australia Kolkata Test in 2001 is firmly imprinted into the minds of every Indian Cricket fan. Sourav Ganguly and his side pulled off a miracle which might not be replicated again in the history of the game. Australia managed 445 runs in the first innings. But India fumbled. The hosts were bowled out for just 171 runs as the visitors induced the follow on.

With their backs against the wall, India marked a comeback. VVS Laxman’s iconic 281 and Rahul Dravid’s 180 helped India post a massive total of 657/7. But that was not the end. The young and aggressive captain, Sourav Ganguly took a gamble as India declared.

Day 5 post Tea and India scripted history. On came a young spinner named Harbhajan Singh. He bagged a hattrick as India bowled out the Aussies for 212 as India did the impossible by winning the match by 171 runs.
