Pakistan all-rounder Aamir Jamal showed mettle on Day 1 of the 3rd Test match between Pakistan and Australia with fighting 82 runs, batting at number nine.
Jamal claimed a record of hitting the highest score for Pakistan in No. 9. Aamir Jamal surpassed Wasim Bari who had scored 72 against Australia. Pakistan pacer Sohail Khan scored 65 to be placed third in the list followed by Intikhab Alam’s 61, Moin Khan’s 61, and Imran Khan’s 56.
Australia needed just one wicket to end Pakistan innings soon after taking Hasan Ali’s wickets at 227. But, Jamal had other plans as he with the help of Mir Hamza took Pakistan to 313 in the first innings.
Jamal scored his fifty in just 71 balls. Pat Cummins cleared him as Mitchell Starc caught him at long-on.
