Harmanpreet Kaur registers unwanted record after humiliating series defeat against Australia Women

Harmanpreet Kaur said that they will take positives from the series and focus on the upcoming INDW vs AUSW T20I series.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. suffered a humiliating series defeat at the hands of Australia Women. The Women in Blue failed to win even one game in the three-match series as they were handed a huge 190 runs defeat on Tuesday (January 2). Meanwhile, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur registered an unwanted record against her name as she failed to get going with the bat in the recently concluded INDW vs AUSW ODI series.

Speaking about her performance in the series, Harmanpreet Kaur managed to score just nine runs in the opening match. She then got out after scoring just five runs in the second match which India Women should have won. The right-handed batter was then dismissed for just three runs in 10 deliveries in the third and final match of the series.

We did our best: Harmanpreet

I think the ODI series didn’t go well, we tried our best. Some of them performed well and some of us need to think of how we can do better. When we are playing red ball, we have a lot of time to think and execute. But in white ball, you don’t have that kind of time,” said Harmanpreet Kaur after the match.

The Indian skipper said that they will take positives from the series and focus on the upcoming INDW vs AUSW T20I series. “We are doing a lot of hardwork, but now we need to focus on T20s and take a few positives from this series. The youngsters, Shreyanka and all, have been chipping in and performing really well. That’s one of the positives. We always discuss about the Australian fielding, because skill wise we believe we are really close. Fielding is something that has been bothering us, and we need to think about that and do well in the future,” she added.
