India Cricket Team over-rated? Kris Srikkanth slams Team India for underperformance

Kris Srikkanth slams India Cricket Team for underperformance, Labels Team India has over-rated

Former India Cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth has slammed the India Cricket Team, claiming them to be overrated. The unfiltered former BCCI Chief Selector has argued that Team India are highly over-rated in T20Is and Test cricket. Ahead of the IND vs SA 2nd Test, Srikkanth has blasted Rohit Sharma and Co for their poor performance in the previous Test.

Kris Srikkanth has defended his statement by claiming that the whole Team in general has under performed in red ball cricket. On the other hand, he has claimed that the players who deserve a chance to be on the team has been left out.

“Test cricket, we are over-rated. We have to make sure… I think it was a phase of 2-3 years… when Virat Kohli was the captain of the team, we were outstanding. We dominated in England, we fought hard in South Africa, we won in Australia. We had a good phase for 2-4 years. Yes, we were dominating in England, in Australia,” Srikkanth spoke on his YouTube channel.

But after the humiliating loss in the first Test, Srikkanth has claimed that team has been underperforming and thus are overrrated. He further went on to say the same about the T20I team. But he has claimed that the ODI team has been fantastic.

Despite the ODI World Cup final loss, Srikkanth is happy with the ODI team. He went on to claim that the team has played well and the World Cup heroics is a big achievement. The final is a one-off loss.

“In T20 cricket India are highly over-rated. ODI cricket, we are a fantastic team. What happens in ODis, in the semi-finals, finals, it’s just a one-off match. It’s a luck factor, a lot depends on luck in these matches. I read Rohit Sharma’s statement, for a cricketer, the 50-over World Cup is a huge achievement. We are sometimes underperforming in the knockout matches, int he semi-finals and the final. But we are a gun side in ODI. Regardless of where we play, be it India, Australia or South Africa, we are a gun side,” Srikkanth concluded.
