Following a humiliating loss in the Boxing Day Test, Team India is back for a vengeance. So is star batter Virat Kohli. Kohli had a long practice session on New Years day as he underwent extensive batting simulation against Proteas pacer Nandre Burger. Virat Kohli will be aiming for a massive fight in IND vs SA 2nd Test as the visitors aim to draw the series.
Virat Kohli looked determined to fine tune his batting skills. He had an extended batting session in Cape Town. He batted for an hour in the entire session. Initially, he tackled the bowlers and then went on to face some serious throwdowns to tackle the pace attack threat posed by the Proteas pacers.
But the major highlight of Virat Kohli’s practice was the special training to face against a left arm pacer. For Kohli it was a very good way to tackle Nandre Burger. A local nets bowler was brought into the practice session. The Indian contingent doesn’t have any left arm pacer as a result a local nets bowler was called upon.
Nandre Burger was a big threat for the Indian batters after he scalped 7 wickets on his Test debut in Centurion. Though the young nets bowler had less pace than Burger, Kohli had to do away with whatever he got.
Apart from facing the youngster, Kohli looked in immaculate touch. He hammered Jasprit Bumrah through cover drives and then slammed Ravi Ashwin for a massive six. A high intensity training 2 days before the Test showcases that the King is ready to face the Proteas and exact revenge in the IND vs SA 2nd Test.
