David Warner recollected Ryan Harris carrying home the entire side on one knee against South Africa as his favourite moment in his career

David Warner recalled a decade-old game where an injured Ryan Harris was the star of the night for Australia against South Africa to point out his favourite moment in his career. The southpaw announced his shock retirement from ODIs on January 1, just two days before he is all set to play his final Test.

Ryan Harris carrying Australia on one knee is Warner’s favourite moment

Speaking to cricket.com.au, Warner recalled when Harris got the final wicket against the Proteas while he was bowling one knee. He said that Harris had taken the wicket in the last couple of overs and that the moment was the standout for him in that hard fought series. He labelled it as his favourite moment from the team’s perspective.

“There’s a lot, but from a team perspective, I think winning the Ashes is massive. But I remember back to Africa (in 2014) when Ryan Harris took that final wicket in the last couple of overs. I think that one stands out for me because that was a a really hard-fought series. That to me was one of the hardest games I’ve been a part of. The memory of Ryan Harris (bowling) on one knee was really significant, and that’s one that stands out for me.”
