In the last few years, Pakistan has been on an endless search for a tearaway fast-bowler like Shoaib Akhtar. Ever since the latter’s retirement, many good fast bowlers have comes from the nation, but none as quick as Akhtar. Time-and-again, the Pakistanis are guilty of sharing videos online, of fast bowlers, which might be edited.
This time former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif was guilty of committing the folly. He shared a video of a bowler in tape-ball cricket, who is perhaps a Pakistani, looks superbly quick, but the only problem with the video is, it looks edited.
Rashid posted the small clip on X, captioning it ‘quick?’.
He was soon called out, as many watching the video realised that the video was heavily edited. A few users pointed out that there was an issue with the follow through of the bowler, while the others realised that the ball can’t really travel that fast.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani team is in Australia currently, and is due to play the third and final Test at the SCG, starting January 3. The visitors trail 0-2 in the series at the moment, and haven’t won a Test Down Under, since 1999.
