“Have lost 16 matches” Iceland Cricket takes a subtle dig at Pakistan Cricket team

“We played better cricket as a team. I’m proud of that," Mohammad Hafeez had said earlier.

Iceland Cricket’s official handle took a subtle dig at the Pakistan Cricket team’s director Mohammad Hafeez comments. After suffering a series defeat at the hands of Australia, Hafeez had said that Pakistan played better cricket as a team, expressing his pride in their efforts after the second Test match.

“It’s amazing. How can the more talented and superior team have lost 16 matches in a row in Australia? Surely those lucky Aussies will stop being lucky soon,” Iceland Cricket posted on ‘X’.

Earlier, Hafeez had said that he was proud of his team and the way they fought in the 2nd Test. “We played better cricket as a team. I’m proud of that. The way the team had the courage to attack this game in the best possible way. If I sum up the game, the Pakistan team played better than the other team in general. Our batting intent was better, and while bowling, we were hitting the right areas,” Hafeez said earlier.

Yes, we made some mistakes that cost us the game but as a team I believe that there were a lot of positives, enough to win the game but unfortunately at the end we didn’t win the game,” he added.

After securing the series, Pat Cummins and Co. will aim for a white-wash in the upcoming AUS vs PAK 3rd Test starting on January 3. The final match of the series will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground as Pakistan Cricket team will look to restore some pride in the final Test.
