India Cricket Team release Rinku Singh from main squad, destructive batter joins India A on shadow tour

Rinku Singh has been released from the India main team squad. He will now join the India A team which is also on a shadow tour in South Africa. With Rinku Singh being released, India A has flown off on 30th December. Singh was an unofficial member of the main team for the IND vs SA 1st Test.

Rinku Singh participated for the visitors as a fielder in the first Test. He was kept in the squad after India’s bench strength got depleted. Mohammed Shami and Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury meant India had just 14 members.

But with Avesh Khan replacing Mohammed Shami and Abhimanyu Eashwaran in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rinku has been released from the main team. He will be aiming to play an active role for India A in the next match to gain some much needed red ball cricket experience under bis belt.

Rinku Singh often came as the 12th man for the India Cricket Team for the Boxing Day Test. He was spotted fielding on the team in some intervals of the game. But now with the backups having arrived for the team, he is will join the Shadow Tour.

India are set to play South Africa for the New Year’s Test in Cape Town on 3rd January. The team is set to have a low key New Year Celebration. The Indian contingent is set to fly back to India on 8th January.
