IND vs SA 2nd Test: Sanjar Manjrekar opines how ruthless Virat and Shastri would have dropped Prasidh Krishna

IND vs SA Test: Prasidh Krishna would have been dropped claims Sanjay Majrekar after poor performance

The India Cricket Team were humiliated by South Africa in the IND vs SA 1st Test. Prasidh Krishna who made his debut for Team India had a horrible outing. Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has opined that in the previous team management under Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri, the pacer would have been dropped for the next case.

Sanjay Manjrekar went on to claim that both Virat Kohli and Shastri would have been ruthless. One bad performance and the player would be dropped. That is however not the case for Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid.

The earlier team management of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri would have been ruthless. Virat and Ravi would have dropped the pacer after his performance,” Manjrekar said while speaking on ESPNcricinfo.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and the guidance of head coach Rahul Dravid, Prasidh Krishna can get another chance. The current duo are not ruthless like Kohli and Shastri.

“Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma might give him another chance,” Manjrekar added.

Both Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna were battered by the Proteas batters. The pace duo went on to leak runs in a flurry. The only saving grace was Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj but the latter duo too had a poor outing going by their standard.

“Shardul Thakur can bat. He plays in overseas matches as India is concerned about their batting. He will make it to the Playing XI,” Manjrekar concluded.

Avesh Khan has been added into the India Cricket Team Test squad in the absence of Mohammed Shami. Mukesh Kumar who failed to make the India Playing XI is likely to get the nod ahead of Prasidh Krishna for the second Test match.
