India found new warriors in the IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test in 2020 when Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj debuted in a highly intense Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Both the cricketers were lucky to witness a historic triumph against Australia in MCG. Team India had won the second Test of the four-match series by eight wickets. India later went on to win the series.
Siraj was impressive on his debut, taking five wickets with two in the first and three in the second innings. Siraj dismissed batters like Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head. Interestingly, he got the wicket of Cameron Green in both the innings.
Shubman also made an impact in his maiden Test. he scored 45 in the first innings and an unbeaten 35 in the second innings, guiding the team to victory.
In the IND vs AUS fourth Test, Shubman hit a stunning knock of 91 in the second innings to set a platform for a series win in Brisbane.
Siraj has taken 61 Test wickets in 22 matches at an average of 30.73. While Shubman has scored 994 runs in 19 Test matches at an average of 31.06. He has hit two hundred so far.
